Some of the photography spots I visited in 2025 included the places or seasons listed below. I hope you enjoy these select images and the accompanying words.
CANAAN VALLEY, WEST VIRGINIA
We started the year out with a trip winter weekend trip to Canaan Valley. This was the first time I had been to this stunning place. For the mid-Atlantic I am not sure it gets much better. I did not do much photography as it was a family trip, but I could spend a lot of time here doing nothing but photography. It was cold and snowy during the January weekend we visited; the lone photo I took was the below image at Blackwater Falls State Park. I think it does a decent job capturing the winter theme. Canaan Valley is a fascinating place. The ecology is especially intriguing, with species found here that are usually otherwise found in sub-arctic bogs and conifer forests. I hope I can return soon tp photograph the Dolly Sods Wilderness, as that place looks absolutely stunning.

PENNSYLVANIA
I only have one shot to include from Pennsylvania, but I do hope to shoot more images from PA in the future. There are definitely some beautiful places across the state I would love to photograph. The image below is of an old Greek Catholic Church in the town my wife is from. The architecture of this building is really captivating, sadly it's slipped into disrepair as it has been unused for years. It's too bad someone with deep pockets doesn't buy it, restore it and do something of value with it.

LOCAL SHOTS
On the morning of the fourth of July I ventured to Great Falls of the Potomac. I put up a blog titled Great Falls with additional shots from that morning if you care to look. Otherwise I took local shots of sunflowers and autumn, but also managed to grab a few other images here and there. Below are images from a sunflower field, a barn at the end of summer and a shot of Great Falls I did not put in the blog post.

NEW MEXICO
I spent a little over a week in New Mexico in early August. My family and I split our time in Santa Fe and Taos, having a really nice time in both places. I already wrote two blog posts about our time and trip. The first entry titled New Mexico - Part 1, is about about Santa Fe, Valles Caldera, and Bandelier. The second entry, titled New Mexico - Part 2 covers El Santuario de Chimayo, and the Taos region. I hope you'll consider reading these posts. Below is an image from Taos Pueblo that I did not include in my original blog post. The landscape of New Mexico is stunning and inspiring. I'd love to return for an extended photography trip.

AUTUMN
I had hoped to get out for a number of shoots during autumn this year. Sadly I didn't make that happen, but I did go out for a nice morning close to my house where I was able to capture nice colors. The two shots below, and the image at the top of the page, are from that morning.

Thank you for looking and reading. I appreciate your valuable time.
